exterior courtyard

landscape architecture + design project

Our client asked us to develop a public courtyard concept that stylistically connected to a new modern LEED 12-unit multi-family building in Houston, Texas.
The client also wanted low maintenance drought tolerant landscape. Once the design was approved, we project managed the complete installation.

The odd shaped areas required our team to custom design most of the outdoor furniture.
Chris Obeji designed the custom salmon colored 3d iron wall screen to cover block walls and create public art. One of the sections also discretely housed an outdoor movie screen for dwellers to enjoy outdoor movies. All custom items were made by local artist.

The new outdoor BBQ and upper wood deck is used for dining.
Trees, dark charcoal gravel connect to the vibe of the building. Up lights behind the art screens to further enhance the design and new landscape throughout to further set the mood for evening use.

Thanks to our Houston team, the original Mirabeau residents and of course owners J + N!
