Living Room + Dining

clients embrace the informal dining table

for their casual family.

When approaching the design for this residence Hector + Chris had to consider that the floorplan had larger and interconnected rooms. The furnishings layout could not be too lean because they wanted to develop a feeling intimacy and provide ample seating.

Kitchen and Cozy Den

an updated eclectic kitchen.

The custom furnishings, art and accessories that were selected for the client are mostly modern and midcentury Scandinavian. Hector + Chris also layered in Italian and American pieces including great vintage finds. They mixed in select items from the client's original inventory resulting with a collected over time result.

Most finishes were updated including painting, new lighting fixtures, counter tops, plumbing fixtures, cabinet hardware.

A European plaster treatment was hand applied to the very red brick fireplace.

This made a huge difference to the entire den.

Tween Loft

keep your kids close and their friends will follow.

The clients were already in planning stages to add a loft space above the existing living room. After reviewing their plans, designers confirmed that the design was well thought out. With some suggestions regarding lighting and window locations plans were approved to proceed.

The benefits of having a separate den for the kids and visiting friends is a perfect plan for the whole family.

Exterior Refresh

On a second phase our clients asked Romero + Obeji to help with the exterior including landscape design, redesign existing wood and stone patio cover and select paint colors for the house. Hector + Chris re-designed the outdoor living spaces and selected new furnishings. The designers ordered custom handmade Spanish tile to embellish existing architectural features. Romero + Obeji managed the entire project to ensure the design plan was executed by our approved contractors at a professional level and on a timely manner.

The existing wood patio structure was stripped of paint and stained in a lighter color. The existing stone at the base and pilasters were treated with a European whitewash plaster technique that created a fresh look.

The clients were very happy with the improvements!
